Hospice is not a service that is provided by Smith County Memorial Hospital, however, we do collaborate with them when the time comes. Hospice is quality, compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury's. Hospice is a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support customized to each person and their family's needs and wishes that focuses on caring, not curing. Hospice provides care in the person's home or other place of residence such as a nursing facility or hospital.

Care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans; however, care will not be refused based on inability to pay.
