The mission of Smith County Memorial Hospital is “Saving Lives and Performing Miracles because We Care”.  Nursing service contributes to the mission statement by providing safe, efficient care to patients of all ages by a team approach.

The Nursing team works together to assist the patient toward a higher level of wellness or comfort.  The team consists of Registered nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurses Aides, and Ward Clerks.

The leader of the team is a Registered nurse.  The registered nurse assigns nursing care according to the patient’s needs, supervises and evaluates the care provided to each patient.  The Licensed Practical nurse provides supportive care and administers medications.  C.N.A.’s and Ward clerks provide patient care and keep the department organized.
