Welcome to Smith County Memorial Hospital
 Smith County Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed not-for-profit Critical Access Hospital with an attached 28 bed Long Term Care unit and a Rural Health Clinic, located in Smith Center, KS.
The hospital was opened June 7, 1951, and on December 12, 1971, the Long Term Care Unit was completed.
In 2004, construction was completed of the Gardner Wellness & Physical Therapy Center, the newest addition of the hospital. This addition has provided much needed space for the Physical Therapy department as well as provided space for Cardiac Rehabilitation and a pool to provide aquatic therapy.

Employee Fundraiser Dinner and Auction

The employees of Smith County Memorial Hospital are holding a Dinner and Auction Fundraiser on October 9th, 2010 at the Smith Center Armory building in Smith Center, KS. The proceeds of the Dinner and Auction will be going towards the purchase of new Treatment Chairs for the Hospital Patient Rooms.
The dinner will be served at 7pm in the Armory Building with bidding to follow. The meal includes an 8oz Smoked Pork Chop, Baked Potato, Green Beans, Dinner Roll, Salad and Cherry Cheesecake. Tickets are available for purchase at $15 per plate. To purchase tickets please contact Gaylen Hess or Julie Haresnape at 785-282-6845; or stop by the Hospital and ask to purchase tickets for the Employee Fundraiser Dinner.
Our current treatment chairs have many problems if you have ever had the pleasure of experiencing them. The brakes no longer lock, making it difficult to safely transfer patients into or out of them. They have a much smaller frame then newer chairs and the wheels are in very bad condition making them very hard to move between departments.
For anyone wanting to make a monetary donation, a separate account has been established at the First National Bank in Smith Center, KS for the Fundraiser. The account name is Employee Fundraiser and employees of the First National Bank are aware of the account.
